Honestly, I think what I most appreciate about this park is that they've tried to keep it as genuine as possible. As several signs warn, this fort was built for war, not safety. Examples of this are that they allow you to walk for the most part where you wish to, there are steep steps, etc. While it is very well maintained and there are no aspects of the park I felt were unsafe, parents need to keep an eye on their kids to make sure they are able to explore while still remaining safe.

Large, open area. Love the history...can learn so much...children love seeing the unknown around every corner. Take time to learn what really happened here and what each area is. History buffs will love it.

Very nice facility. Restroom and shelter aress were clean and in excellent condition. Overall park grounds were very well kept. This was of course off season, but even in summer this park is very nice. Ample free parking. Beautiful beach.

I've been here several times over the past several years, and they always seem to have added something or improved upon something.

It's always well maintained, with a lot of things to learn and see. There's even an area more directed at kids that offers more hands on information such as playing with seashells or using a machine to see how tides work.

Great historical park. Plenty to do, and a lot to learn. The Visitors Center is a must, as well as the walking tour of the fort. It is a very educational place. It is also amazing to see the vastness of the fortification. There are plenty of unique opportunities for pics.

What a great spot. Everything you would expect from a National Park and more. We visited during the week but found everything open and available (read bathrooms ). Well situated on the beach and plenty of pavilions and parking.
